GIS Lead John Lang to present at Perth QGIS Event

Leichhardt GIS Lead John Lang is set to present to mapping professionals at the Perth QGIS Users Meetup at Riff (Spacecubed) on Thursday 5 August.

The relaxed event takes place in the heart of Perth City, where John will discuss conceptual design of salt ponds using QGIS. He’s joined by fellow GIS professionals and presenters Grant Boxer, Chris Geary and Evren Pakyuz-Charrier on stage.

John has over 15 years experience as a Geographic Information Specialist to resource companies ConocoPhillips, Inpex and Fugro as well as 20 years offshore experience in varied roles from geologist to directional specialist to company representative. John has worked in more than 20 countries, including Canada, China, EU, Kyrgyzstan, UK and USA.

At Leichhardt, John’s key roles are to manage spatial information, produce maps, and work with the domain specialists to provide spatial solutions to the design, environment, heritage, hydrology and geoscience teams.

The event on Thursday next week will be an invaluable insight into John’s expertise and experience.
